This post is sponsored by Let’s Play, an initiative by Dr Pepper Snapple Group that provides kids and families with the tools, places and inspiration to make active play a daily priority by building and improving playgrounds and donating sports equipment to groups in need. Although I received compensation for this post, all opinions are my own.
Have you heard of the Let’s Play High School Makeover Challenge? It’s an awesome initiative by Dr Pepper Snapple Group that benefits high school students at underfunded schools across the U.S. Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Good Sports have donated more than $4.5 million in new sports equipment over the last 3 years as part of Dr Pepper Snapple’s $38.5 million commitment by 2020 to bring active play to kids in need. I think that’s pretty awesome!
This year, they asked student-athletes to create a 60-90 second video focused on the “because of sports…” theme that conveys their need for new athletic equipment. Dr Pepper Snapple Group has since chosen the top 20 finalists to be voted on by the public.
The voting period to determine the top 10 is from September 8, 2017, to September 17, 2017. This voting period is available online to the public – this is where you come in! Once the top 10 are selected, a panel of representatives from Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Good Sports will determine the lucky school to receive the grand prize of $100,000 in new athletic equipment!
This challenge was brought to my attention because one of the high schools is local to me in Sacramento, CA. There are also high schools in Chicago, IL, Brooklyn, NY, Seattle, WA, and many more hoping to win this amazing grand prize.
All you need to do to help one of these schools win brand new sports equipment is vote for your favorite school’s video between September 8-17. Every single one of these schools will win something to go toward their sporting equipment. As a mom and an advocate of an active lifestyle – including sports, I think that is pretty amazing!
