Make these adorable American flag vases out of tin cans and paint. They make the perfect centerpiece for 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, or Flag Day!
Some of our favorite patriotic recipes to make are American Flag Toast, No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake, and Patriotic Edible Cookie Dough. If you’re still looking to get crafty after making these fun vases, try our tutorial for Red, White, and Blue Play Dough.
I love making fun centerpieces that I can use again and again. Some other projects I have shared are Mason Jar Christmas Centerpieces and Mason Jar Tissue Holder.
This is the first tin can centerpiece I have shared and I am totally hooked. I love that I was able to repurpose something I would normally get rid of and turn it into something beautiful.
You can use these vases with fresh or artificial flowers. I LOVE fresh flowers, but the artificial ones are nice, too, because you don’t have to worry about them dying. Hypothetically, you could have these American flag vases out on your table all summer long.
What do I need to make American flag centerpieces?
- 2 empty tin cans, cleaned well and label removed
- Red, white, and blue paint
- Painter’s Tape
- Star Stickers
- Twine
- Fresh or artificial flowers
How long does it take to make American flag vases?
This project takes about 3 hours, total. That’s because you have to wait for the paint to dry in-between coats. Hand’s on time is an hour or less, depending how detailed you want to be.
