It’s that time of year again! Back to school! My oldest is starting Kindergarten, which means I can actually save those Box Tops for our own home school this year!
If you aren’t familiar with the Box Tops program, it’s an easy way to raise money for your school. Box Tops come on products you probably already purchase. Just snip the Box Tops off of the packaging and give them to your child’s school. Each Box Tops is worth 10 cents. That can add up really fast on items you are buying anyway.
I took a trip to Walmart to pick up some supplies and saw that they had double Box Tops on Kleenex® Trusted Care* 3 Bundle Pack, Kleenex® Trusted Care* 4 Bundle Pack, Scott® Tissue 20 Roll Pack, and Viva® Vantage® 6 Big Rolls. It was a good opportunity to stock up on some everyday essentials. Plus, I grabbed some extra Kleenex boxes for the Kindergarten class. I love that I was able to get double Box Tops with Kleenex Facial Tissue and give back double with Kleenex Facial Tissue.
The double Box Tops got me thinking about where I was going to store these little tickets until I had enough to donate to the school. Enter the DIY Box Tops Holder.
Here is what you’ll need to make your own Box Tops Holder:
- Empty rectangular tissue box
- Tissue paper in assorted colors
- Scissors
- Glue
- Box Tops
Start by cutting the tissue paper into small squares. Glue them on to the tissue box in whatever pattern you like.
Recruit a little helper to assist with the gluing and sticking. I found that applying glue directly to the tissue box in 1 large area was easier than gluing the squares one by one.
This was a great opportunity to explain about the Box Tops program to my son. I think it’s a great way to start instilling the importance of school in him and showing that we appreciate our school.
Once your finished, find a good spot for your Box Tops Holder and start saving those Box Tops!
