Remove giblets from chicken.
Mix together salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Rub on bird.
Pour olive oil in the bowl of the Instant Pot and set it to saute.
Brown both sides of the chicken in the instant pot, about 30 seconds per side.
Turn off Instant Pot and remove chicken.
Pour in 1 cup water and add trivet to Instant Pot.
Place chicken on top of Instant Pot and calculate cook time.
Cook time: 6 minutes per pound of bird + 2 minutes (a 6 pound bird would be 38 minutes)
Natural pressure release for 15-20 minutes.
Serve.
