Ingredients

  • 2 to 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 2-1/4 tsp. packet Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk any variety will work
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  • Combine 1/4 cup flour, sugar, Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Yeast, and salt in a large bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer.
  • Mix together milk, water, and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high for 15 seconds at a time until the liquid is warm, but not hot (120° to 130°F).
  • Pour liquid mixture into dry mixture and mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  • Add an additional 1/4 cup flour and mix for another 2 minutes, at high speed.
  • Slowly fold in the remaining flour, until a dough forms. You may not need all of the flour.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes. If using an electric mixer with dough hook, knead for 4 minutes.
  • Kneading is completed with the dough is shiny and elasticy. If dough is still sticky, knead in an extra 1/4 cup flour.
  • Cover with dough with a clean towel and let rest 10 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9x13 glass casserole dish and set aside.
  • Cut dough into 12 even pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  • Arrange balls of dough inside greased casserole dish. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  • Bake Parker House Rolls for 20 minutes, until golden brown on top.

Notes

It is important to check your Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Yeast to make sure it has not expired. Expired yeast is often the reason why breads don't rise.
