Ingredients

  • 5 cups water
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken stock
  • 1 cup diced chicken breasts or thighs
  • 4 medium carrots diced
  • 3 celery stalks with leaves diced
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 package egg noodles

Instructions

  • In a crockpot or slow cooker, mix together chicken stock and water.
  • Mix in the chicken, carrot, celery, onion, spices, and dried herbs.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Mix in the egg noodles and allow to cook for 5 minutes prior to serving.

Notes

Cooked chicken may be substituted for raw chicken.
