Cinnamon Roll FAQs
How do you keep cinnamon rolls from sticking to the pan?
We like to line our pan with well buttered parchment paper. Use lots of butter! This helps a lot to prevent the cinnamon rolls from sticking to the pan.
Make sure you leave enough parchment sticking up around the edges so you can lift it up and out of the pan after they have finished cooking.
If you didn’t use parchment, you can run a butter knife around the edge of the pan before trying to remove the cinnamon rolls. This helps to loosen them from the pan.
How do you know when cinnamon rolls are done?
Check the cinnamon roll in the middle. It should be fully cooked on the inside. You can check it by gently lifting it up with a butter knife to make sure the inside is fully cooked and not raw.
Your cinnamon rolls will brown on the top – so don’t be afraid of that! They don’t come out looking white – that’s what the icing is for!
Can you freeze homemade cinnamon rolls?
Yes you can! Which is another reason why I love cinnamon rolls so much! Wrap iced and fully cooled cinnamon rolls individually in two layers of foil.
Cinnamon rolls can be frozen up to 3 months or longer. They can be defrosted overnight in your fridge (for an extra special breakfast) or just unwrapped and left out at room temperature for about an hour to defrost.
We recommend warming them in a 350 degree oven once defrosted so you can recreate the gooeyness of the cinnamon roll.
How long can cinnamon rolls last in the fridge?
Cinnamon rolls will stay fresh in the fridge for 1 week. As long as they don’t have cream cheese frosting, they can also be stored at room temperature in an air-tight container. However, they will only stay fresh at room temperature for about 2 days.
Can I use a glass pan to bake cinnamon rolls?
Yes! You can bake cinnamon rolls in glass, ceramic, or metal baking dishes.
