What is Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken?

This dish is a take on the classic buffalo chicken we all know and love: but crisped-up and baked in your air fryer machine! With every bite, you get a burst of buffalo and ranch sauce… giving your taste buds an epic, flavorful party!

Why is it Called Buffalo Chicken?

Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken gets its name all thanks to its buffalo sauce component. The sauce is usually made of a mixture of hot sauce, butter, vinegar and Worcestershire. It was named after the location where it was invented: in Buffalo, NY.

How To Store and Reheat Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken

To store any leftover air fryer buffalo chicken, place it in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Alternatively, you can freeze it (just be sure to wrap in plastic and aluminum) for up to 3 months.

To reheat, set your air fryer to 365 degrees and bake for about 6-8 minutes, flipping them over at the halftime point. If you are reheating them from the freezer, be sure to thaw them out.

Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken

Yield: 6 drumsticks
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes

All you need is four simple ingredients and your trusty air fryer to make a batch of delicious Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken. Every bite is bursting with the tastiest buffalo and ranch flavor – so much of it, in fact, that your dinner guests will be begging for seconds!

Ingredients

  • 6 drumsticks
  • 1/2 ranch packet
  • 1 cup Buffalo sauce
  • 1 stick butter, melted

Instructions

  • Make sure drumsticks are as dry as can be by patting them down with a towel.
  • Coat each drumstick in butter.
  • Place drumsticks on air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  • Cook at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • While drumsticks are cooking, mix 1/2 packet ranch into the 1 cup buffalo sauce.
  • Remove from air fryer and coat drumsticks in ranch/buffalo mixture.
  • Place back in air fryer for another 10 minutes.
  • Enjoy!
