How to make banana bread in jars?
The concept for making banana bread in mason jars is similar to baking a traditional loaf of banana bread. You prepare the batter in the same way. Instead of pouring it into a loaf pan and baking for over an hour, you divide the batter up evenly between four jars. Then you cook it in your electric pressure cooker for just 15 minutes.
The result is perfectly moist banana bread with a nice crumb and golden brown crust. If you love a thick crust on your banana bread, I also recommend air fryer banana bread.
What jars to use for Instant Pot Banana Bread in Jars?
You will need pint-sized wide-mouth mason jars for this recipe. Regular mouth mason jars can be used but you won’t be able to slide the bread out of the jars.

I’d like to try the recipe
However I want to use a lid and ring
Have you ever tried that ?
Maybe it won’t rise ….
I haven’t tried it that way, so I’m not sure. I do think it will change the way it cooks.
High, medium or low pressure? What qt pot we’re you using?
Hi Grace. High pressure and it was tested in a 6 quart.
How long would you recommend cooking if I made two quarts instead
Hi Jenna. I would try 20 minutes. Please let me know how it turns out! – Aileen
Hello,
Does the recipe only make four jars? Could smaller jars be used?
Thank you,
Cathy
Hi Cathy,
Yes, this recipe makes four jars of banana bread. You can use smaller jars. Unfortunately, I have not tested the recipe in smaller jars, so I am unsure of the cook time.

This recipe is awesome. My family loved it and i love that it only takes 15 minutes and i can store it in the jars i baked them in! Thank you for the recipe!
I am so glad you enjoyed it, Tressa!
Are you using the trivet and how much water?
Hi Darline! Yes, I use 1 cup of water and place the jars on top of the trivet. 🙂
I followed the recipe exactly and I ended up.with banana mush, not bread. Not exactly happy with this recipe. Would I need to adjust the cook time for the 8qt pot?
Hi Julie. That must have been really frustrating. By banana mush, do you mean it was still soft and not cooked all the way? If that is the case, I would recommend adding another 5 minutes of cook time.
