I love making appetizers in my crockpot. Especially easy recipes like these grape jelly meatballs. They are made with just 3 ingredients: frozen meatballs, a jar of grape jelly, and a bottle of chili sauce. That’s it. It’s an easy-peasy recipe that you can just throw together in your slow cooker and walk away.

Slow cooker grape jelly meatballs are the perfect appetizer for a party at your house or for a pot luck. Just keep the meatballs in the crockpot and bring the whole thing with you. When you get to the party, plug in your crock pot and set it to keep warm so they stay perfectly warm and ready during the entire party.

They make a slow cooker with handles that keeps the lid in place during transit. If you don’t have a lid that stays in place, a bungee cord works great to hold your lid in place. 

How to make Crockpot Grape Jelly Meatballs?

As mentioned, this recipe is only three ingredients!

  1. Simply add a bag of frozen meatballs and top with grape jelly and chili sauce.
  2. Cook it on high for 3 hours.
  3. Then serve directly from the crockpot or on toothpicks.

Should I thaw meatballs before putting in crockpot?

No, you don’t need to thaw the meatballs. Just throw them in your crockpot from the freezer. They will thaw and warm directly in the slow cooker. That’s the beauty of this recipe. It is very easy and low fuss.

Should I Brown meatballs before putting in slow cooker?

No. You don’t need to brown your meatballs. They absorb the flavor and color of the grape jelly and chili sauce, so there is really no need to brown them first.

What can I use instead of grape jelly?

If you want to change up the flavor of these grape jelly meatballs, you could use apple jelly or orange marmalade. Both would be great flavors for these easy crockpot cocktail meatballs!

How long does it take to warm up frozen meatballs in a crockpot?

It takes about 3 hours on high or 6 hours on low to warm up frozen meatballs. Frozen meatballs are already cooked, so you are really looking to just defrost and warm the meatballs while cooking the sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 12-ounce bag frozen meatballs
  • 1 12-ounce bottle chili sauce
  • 1 19-ounce jar grape jelly

Instructions
 

  • Place meatballs in the crockpot.

  • Pour the grape jelly and chili sauce on top of the meatballs.
