What kind of seasonings for slow cooker sausage and potatoes?
The Cajun seasoning I used comes in a jar from McCormick. I believe you can also purchase it in smaller packets if you don’t want an entire jar of Cajun seasoning. I was excited to find the jar of Cajun seasoning so I have an excuse to experiment with the flavor in other recipes. I also created a Cajun chicken pasta recipe you may like.
Can I make it less spicy?
You can cut down on the spice of this recipe by switching the cajun seasoning to creole seasoning. Keep in mind that andouille sausage is also spicy. I you want a much milder flavor, I would suggest regularly smoked sausage with creole seasoning. You just won’t get that fully authentic cajun flavoring.

If you love smoked sausage, then this easy crockpot recipe is for you. I love that this recipe is different than a traditional crockpot recipe. The potatoes and andouille sausage make such a hearty meal and the cream of mushroom soup and cajun seasoning make the perfect sauce.
There are so many great crockpot recipes out there. Although I have recently fallen in love with my instant pot, my crockpot still holds a special place in my heart. I use it often during busy seasons (like having a new baby, back to school time, and during baseball seasons).
I also love planning freezer cooking days and make a huge batch of freezer to crockpot meals all at once. If you are curious about freezer crockpot meals, then check out our crockpot freezer meal plan that is full of freezer friendly crockpot meals and includes a printable shopping list.
