📖 Ingredient Swaps

Canned Tomatoes: You can substitute the fresh tomato for a 16-ounce can of diced tomatoes. Simply pour the canned tomatoes over the chicken at the same time you would add the fresh tomatoes.

Dried Basil: If you cannot get your hands on fresh basil, 1 tablespoon of dried basil can be sprinkled over the chicken before serving.

Shredded Mozzarella: Shredded mozzarella may be used in place of sliced mozzarella. However, it will not melt quite as smoothly.
