Easy Baked Chicken
I love a good baked chicken recipe. I love that this baked caprese chicken recipe is easy to assemble, with just 10 minutes of prep time before it bakes in the oven. I live for these kinds of meals, so I can focus on other things, like taking a break to snuggle up with my kiddos on the couch for a few minutes.

Baked Chicken Caprese Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 6 ounces mozzarella cheese sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 3 large tomatoes sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 1/4 cup chopped basil
Instructions

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Grease a 9x9 square baking dish and set aside.

Brush the olive oil on both sides of the chicken breasts and place them in the baking dish.

Sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and oregano.

Bake chicken for 15 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the oven and add mozzarella and tomato slices on top.

Return chicken to the oven for an additional 10 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
