Make the crispiest air fryer grilled cheese with this easy and delicious recipe! You are never going to want to have another grilled cheese again!

Making grilled cheese in an air fryer really is a game changer. It makes the bread extra crispy on the outside and perfectly melty and gooey cheese on the outside. If you don’t believe me, just see the stringy cheese all over my grilled cheese in the photos. It speaks for itself!

I love a good grilled cheese. They are easy to make, filling, and please most children! You can make grilled cheese with whatever bread and cheese you have on hand. We often make ours with whole wheat bread and sharp cheddar. Again, because that is what I tend to have on-hand most often.

Other easy recipes in the air fryer we have made are air fryer bacon, air fryer sausage, air fryer frozen pot stickers , air fryer frozen hash browns, and air fryer frozen chicken nuggets.

The Cheese in Air fryer grilled cheese

However, for today’s recipe, I upped my game a little. I made this amazingly crispy air fried grilled cheese with two thick slices of country-style white bread and a combination of cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese.

You could also use a combination of cheddar and pepper jack or even muenster. You really can’t go wrong with this air fryer grilled cheese. All you need is two slices of bread, 3 slices of cheese, and butter. Oh, and an air fryer, of course.

    1. Hi Pam! I haven’t had much of a problem with that. However, you could put it on a piece of foil.
