❤️Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Pumpkin pie dip is a creamy dip that’s a cross between pumpkin pie filling and pumpkin cheesecake.
It has the perfect amount of pumpkin spice flavor and sweetness. This recipe is also a great way to use up leftover canned pumpkin as it only uses 1 cup of pure pumpkin.
Pumpkin dip is for you if you:
A) Love Dips
and
B) Love all things pumpkin spice!
Seriously. This is the best dessert dip I have ever had. It is so good!
Pumpkin pie dip is also extremely versatile. It can be served as an appetizer at a party or leading up to Thanksgiving dinner. It can also be served as an easy (and tasty) dessert.
As far as the dippable munchies… You can serve it with a savory item like pretzels, a sweet item like graham crackers or vanilla wafers, or with sliced fruit. I like sliced granny smith apples the best. If serving with apples, make sure to treat the apples for browning.
Speaking of apples, you are going to love my recipe for Thanksgiving Fruit Salad! It’s a sweet-tart creamy fruit salad that includes crunchy apples. Yum!
📋Ingredients
To make pumpkin dip, you will need the following ingredients:
Canned Pumpkin Puree: Look for the label that says “pure pumpkin”. You do not want the pumpkin pie filling.
Cream Cheese: Choose full-fat cream cheese as that’s what makes it extra creamy and cheesecake-like.
Pumpkin Pie Spice: You can find this seasoning mixture in the spice aisle. Alternatively, you can make your own pumpkin pie spice. Simply combine 3 TBSP Cinnamon + 2 tsp Ginger + 2 tsp Nutmeg + 1 1/2 tsp allspice + 1 1/2 tsp cloves. Store your pumpkin spice at room temperature in an air-tight container and use it all season long.

📖 Ingredient Swaps
Fresh Pumpkin: Fresh pumpkin can easily be swapped out for the canned variety. Make sure the pumpkin is fully cooked and cooled before making the dip.
Brown Sugar: This recipe calls for light brown sugar. However, dark brown sugar will work, too.

Prepping the Cream Cheese
This creamy pumpkin dip is made with a brick of cream cheese. If you have ever made a dessert with cream cheese before, then you know that cold cream cheese does not mix well.
To make this pumpkin cheesecake dip, you will want to make sure the cream cheese is very soft before starting. I recommend taking it out of the fridge an hour before you plan on making the dip. Peel back the foil and let it sit at room temperature to soften.
You will know the cream cheese is softened when you can softly press your thumb into the cream cheese and your thumbprint stays. You should be able to do it with very little pressure.
Hand Mixing
If mixing up this fluffy pumpkin dip by hand, you are going to want to mix it for 5-7 minutes. It’s important that the dip comes out light and fluffy. Mixing it for a longer period of time incorporates air into the dip giving it that fluffy texture.

💭Recipe FAQs
Allow the puree to cool fully. For best results, refrigerate the puree for 30 minutes first. Transfer to an air-tight and freezer-safe container. Freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to use, defrost in the fridge overnight prior to using.
Recipes for pumpkin spice can vary but it is typically made with a combination of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. It doesn’t actually include any pumpkin, it’s just the flavor pattern we taste when something is labeled “pumpkin spice”.
7 Days
Fresh and canned pumpkin puree can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 7 days (1 week). If you are planning to use it further than a week out, freezing is recommended.
