Pumpkin pie dip is a creamy dip that’s a cross between pumpkin pie filling and pumpkin cheesecake. It has the perfect amount of pumpkin spice flavor and sweetness. This recipe is also a great way to use up leftover canned pumpkin as it only uses 1 cup of pure pumpkin.
How to make pumpkin pie dip

2. You simply combine cream cheese, pumpkin, pumpkin spice, brown sugar, and vanilla in a bowl.

Tips for making pumpkin pie dip with cream cheese
This creamy pumpkin dip is made with a brick of cream cheese. If you have ever made a dessert with cream cheese before, than you know that cold cream cheese does not mix well.
To make this pumpkin cheesecake dip, you will want to make sure the cream cheese is very soft before starting. I recommend taking it out of the fridge an hour before you plan on making the dip. Peel back the foil and let it sit at room temperature to soften.
You will know the cream cheese is softened when you can softly press your thumb into the cream cheese and your thumb print stays. You should be able to do it with very little pressure.
If mixing up this fluffy pumpkin dip by hand, you are going to want to mix it for 5-7 minutes. It’s important that the dip comes out light and fluffy. Mixing it for a longer period of time incorporates air into the dip that gives it that fluffy texture.
What to serve with pumpkin pie dip?
We love serving pumpkin dip on a platter with graham crackers and sliced apples. You could also serve it with sliced pears and ginger snap cookies. Just keep in mind that both pears and apples will brown if left sitting out for too long, unless you treat them for browning. Another tasty pairing would be to serve this dip with homemade pumpkin spice lattes, yum!
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pure pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Whisk using an electric mixer until fully combined and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Serve with graham crackers and sliced fruit.
- Refrigerate any leftovers.
Cream cheese should be very soft for this recipe. Plan to leave the cream cheese out at room temperature for up to an hour before making pumpkin pie dip.
