The Perfect Homemade Pizza Sauce
The recipe for homemade pizza sauce calls for canned tomatoes. Canned tomatoes are one of those pantry staples I keep on hand so we can whip up pizza anytime we want.
This pizza sauce recipe has just the right mix of sweetness and spice. If you like your sauce on the spicier side, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mix as well.
Pizza + Movie Night = Perfection
We have pizza and a movie night every single Friday. It’s something the kids get really excited about and I love pizza. So I’m on board. We go through phases of ordering a lot of Mary’s Pizza Shack. Which is amazing, but it is pricey!
Making our own pizza is a great way to save money. It’s also a great way to get our kids involved in making dinner since there are lots of easy steps they can accomplish on their own. Sometimes, we just let them make their own mini pizzas, too. You could even grill your pizza or make homemade air fryer calzones.
Don’t forget the rest of the pizza
If you are going to make your own pizza, I highly recommend this recipe for pizza dough. It requires no rise time, so it’s completely doable after a busy day. If you really don’t feel like fussing with making your own dough, try this recipe for french bread pizza.
